Frank M. You

Dr. Frank You is a senior research scientist in bioinformatics and genomics at Ottawa Research and Development Centre, Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada (AAFC), Canada, an adjunct professor of Department of Plant Science, University of Manitoba and a guest professor of Nanjing Agricultural University, China. He earned Ph.D in plant genetics and breeding with statistical genetics in 1989 and a BS degree in agronomy in 1982 and a BS degree in computer science in 1999. Dr. You has the expertise in computational biology and bioinformatics, statistical genetics, and plant genetics and breeding. His research interests include plant comparative and statistical genomics, quantitative genetics, genome assembly and annotation of complex genomes, gene expression and microarray data analysis, physical mapping and data analysis, high-throughput molecular marker design and development, and bioinformatics software development. Dr. You’s recent research projects include genome sequencing and annotation, QTL mapping and gene cloning of genes associated with seed yield and disease resistance in flax and cereal crops, breeding database development, and gene identification and marker development for wheat disease and pest resistance. Dr. You has contributed more than 110 peer-reviewed papers in scientific journals, including some high impact journals such as Nature and PNAS.

Synan AbuQamar

Dr. Synan AbuQamar completed his Ph.D from Purdue University/Department of Botany & Plant Pathology in 2007 and his postdoctoral studies from the same university in the area of Molecular Genetics of Plant Immunity. In August 2008, Dr. AbuQamar joined the Department of Biology at the United Arab Emirates University as an Assistant Professor. Currently, he is an Associate Professor. Dr. AbuQamar's current research interest is in the area of Plant Molecular Genetics/Plant Biotechnology. He has co-authored a number of publications in peer-reviewed international journals and serves as an editorial board member in reputed journals

Najla Mezghani

Najla Mezghani is an Assistant Professor in the National Gene Bank of Tunisia. She has her expertise in plant biotechnology and genetics.  She is working in the field of plant genetic resources and she is particularly responsible of the ‘Vegetable, condiment and ornamental genetic resources conservation and evaluation’ program.

Zeliha Selamoglu

Zeliha Selamoglu is a Professor in Medical Biology department of Nigde Ömer Halisdemir University, Turkey. She earned her PhD in Biology from Inonu University, She has published over 110 peerreviewed journal articles with over 1100 citations and many technical reports. She is a member of Society for Experimental Biology and Medicine: Associate Membership and European association for cancer research. She has served as Editorial Board member for many Journals.

Prof. hon.em. Klaus Ammann  has completed his PhD at the Scientific Institute of the University of Bern including postdoctoral studies, Switzerland. He wa the director of the Botanical Garden and delivering scientific talks worldwide. He has published more than 200 papers in reputed journals and has been serving as an editorial board member of repute.

Valasia Iakovoglou

Dr. Valasia Iakovoglou is a distinct graduate of Iowa State University, USA. She has more than 25- yrs of national/international research and teaching experience as an Ecophysiologist/Silviculture expert in seedling production and Restoration/Conservation of Ecosystems with emphasis on Biodiversity under the challenges of Climate Change. She has received numerous scholarships, awards and recognitions. She is an editor of nine international journals and a reviewer in more than fifteen with one of them being the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). She has more than 100 publications (books/book chapters, peer-reviewed scientific articles). She is active in many scientific societies such as the Mediterranean Experts of Climate and environmental Change (MedECC) as well as Board Member of associations such as the “Association of Inter-Balkan Woman’s Cooperation Societies (AIWCS)” of UNESCO Center, where she is the “General Secretary” and responsible for the “Education” sector. Since 2018, she is the Director of the Ecotourism Sector of the UNESCO chair Con-E-Ect and since 2020 she is an Executive Board of Directors of Climate Smart Agriculture Youth Network Global (GCSAYN) in Africa. Since 2021 she has been part of the G100 Women of the World serving as Country Chair of Greece for Farming and AgriTourism as well as an active member of the International Council of World Tourism Forum Institute.
